GREY ELECTION PETITION.
DECISION AGAINST PETITIONER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Greymouth, Sept, 13. Justices Chapman and Sim delivered judgment this morning on points referred to them yesterday in the first four cases. The vote was valid in the fifth and sixth cases, and is invalid in the seventh. In the eighth case the answer depends on whether the voter made a mistake or wilfully made a false declaration. Mr. Hanan said that petitioner did not intend pursuing the action further. The bulk of the votes challenged were covered in issues one and two, and their Honors' decision was against the petitioner. Mr. Holland's majority could not be greatly reduced. There were 27 cases of plural voting, but having failed on issues one and two, the petitioner bad no hope of success.
Their Honors granted costs as allowed! by the Act, and left them to the registrar to fix. t
