THE EMPIRE. HAROLD LOCKWOOD IN "BROADWAY BILL." To-night at the Empire Harold Lock-' wood will star in the Metro feature, "Broadway Bill." which is a motion picture story of Hendryx' thrilling novel, ''The 'Promise." Harold Lockwood as "Broadway Bill" i h what his name indietates till the girl throws him over and he decides to make a man of himself. The girl's father owns a lumber camp in the North Woods and sends Bill to find why his birdseye maple isn't making money. The foreman is tough and lie has a big Swede as his right bower. "Accidents happen" in the woods- and a few are scheduled to come to Bill. Bill, however, wins out and has a physical encounter with the boss, and knocks him out and Bill is elected foreman. Bill has conquered drink so far, but he finds the cook's whisky bottle wrapped in a newspaper. By chance he reads in this that tfie girl is engaged to his rival. The girl's father, with the girl and the family appear unexpectedly, but Bill remembers he has no claim. But here the small brother takes a hand and all ends quite satisfactorily for Bill. The supports include the aitxh episode of "A Lass of the Lumberlands," the Co-opera-tive Weekly, and other interesting x,pictures. MATINEE TO-MORROW. THE FOX SUNSHINE COMEDY. The matinee programme for to-mor-row will feature the really wonderful Fox Sunshine comedy, "His Smashing Career," which was shown on "The Spy" programme at Everybody's during the week. This picture is so uproariously funny that the management immediately decided to book it for the Empire matinee. "The Lass of the Lumberlands" will also be shown at the matinee to-morrow. EVERYBODY'S. "THE GOWN OF DESTINY." F-verybody's programme for to-nigh( is featuring Miss Alma Rubens, who is known all over the screen, world as the girl with the perfect profile. This clever actress has the leading part in a picture entitled "The Gown of Destiny," which is a Triangle story of the adventures of the wearers of a perfectly designed dress. This beautiful gown would make a story interesting all ny itself, but besides the wonderful dre3s itself there is a riot of swift action and plenty of drama to kepp the business moving. The sixth episode of the "Mystery of the Double Cross" is also included on this programme which, is showing for to-night only. I TO-MORROW. DOUG. FAIRBANKS IN "AMERICAN ARISTOCRACY." Our oIU favorite, Doug. Fairbanks, will be tlte star attraction to-morrow in a fast-moving comedv drama, "American Aristocracy." This programme will also include the final episode of "The Neglected Wife." COMING TO EVERYBODY'S. "THE ENJ3MY WITHIN." Many sensations and thrills packed close together make up "The Enemy Within," the great Australian superfeature shich shows at Everybody's next Tuesday and Wednesday. Reg. L. ("Snowy"). Baker, the well-known tralian athlete, makes his first appearance in the picture world, and perforins ?omc daring and clever athletic, feats He is featured as Jack Airlie, a soldier brought back irons the front, to track down an enemv gan.<? which is plotting against Australia. The chase and the eventual capture of the plotters, as ma? he imagined, give many opportunities for the introduction of sensational "stunts." At one sta?e, Jack is matched single-handed against four of the enemy, and has to fight hard for his I'fe. Again the plotters kidnap the cirl .Tack loves and tie her to a rock, where she n threatened with drowning. To rescue her, -Tack must descend a high cliff on a thin rope, arid complete the descent with an 80-foot divn- There are manr other surprising feats. In lone of them is there any suggestion of fakaj Tt is plain that thev are actuallv performed bv a man of exceptional prowess. The box plan for the twonight season of this sensational picture opens at Collier's to-morrow morning.
