RED CROSS MATCH. The Red Cross football match, played at Pultekura Park yesterday, between the New Plymouth Rovers and tho locaj members of the 44th Reinforcements, who are on Until leave, was marred somewhat, so far as the attendance was concerned, by the rain which fell a little before the time for play to begin. The gate takings amounted to about £4. The match was an Interesting one, though the Rovers, having played together through tho past season, were too good for the military team. The score at the end of play was: Rovers 9, Reinforcements 0. For the winners Cocker and Oliver scored tries, and H. Oliver kicked a penalty goal. Mr. X. Howell was referee.
