One consequence of the crisis is a series of Kaiser telegrams, insisting that Divine help has hitherto been granted to the Fatherland and begging the people not to be demoralised by the fluctuations of the war situation. The Kaiser, replying to an address from the Soldiers' League, described the soldiers' task as being at the' front to defend, their homes from an enemy from all parts of the earth, who were charging upon Germany.—Times Service. FOOD RIOTS IN ROTTERDAM. Received Sept. 13, 12 10 a.m. Amsterdam, Sept. 12. There was rioting in Rotterdam, arising from the scarcity of food. CADKTS SUMMONED. deceived Sept 13, 12.10 a.m. Amsterdam, Sept, 12. The Telegraaf states that the 25t!i Regiment, at Cologne, refused to entrain for the front on the 31st.August. Another regiment refused to coerce their comrades- The authorities summoned the local cadets, who attacked the'mutineers with swords, but were severely handled, losing 11 killed.—Aus.-N.Z. ■ Cable Assoc.
