PATRIOTIC WORK.
BABOTU LADIES' COMMITTEE. The Rahotu Ladies' Patriotic Committee still continuo their active work ill connection with various patriotic movements- Each file day afternoon teas are held in the hall, the hostesses during the past four months being:—May 10, Mesdames M. Hill and J. Ward ; Slay 24-, Mesdames Harrop, Williams, Fischer and Miss Wright, these ladies also provided supper for hard-up social; June 7, Mesdames Annis, A. Phillips, T. Hughson, junr.; June 21, Mesdames Tylee, lvitchingliam, R. Dawson, Thomas; July 5, Mesdames Dawson, X. Morgan T. P. Mughson, senv.; Julv 19 Mesdames Fields, L N. V. Billing; August 2, Mesdames Robinson, P. Jamss and Mr Grey; July IC, Mesdames H. Hopkins, Chapman, Groom; August 30, Mesdames J. Hopping, Tyre), F. Wilcox. In June two eases of hospital comforts were forwarded to ihe officer in charge No. 2 Hospital, "Brokonhurst, England, containing the fallowing:—Case Xi. 1, 12 draw sheets; 12 large sheets; 3B pillow cases; 42 facecloths, 1 box Field's toilet soap, 1 dozen is cocoa, 12 tins honey; 121-bs sugar; 4 boxes Windsor soap; 4 large tins of glaxo. Case No. 2: 42, pyjamas, SO top shirts. 21 under sliirt flannel, 0 lounge r.iits, fi flannel 'bed jackets, fi flannel bed shirts, 3(1 towels, 20 pair hand-knitted socks, 12 pair machine socks, 2 blanket dressing gown", 1 flannelette, and GO white handkerchiefs.
For Christmas gifts for boys at the front donations have been received as follow: Cash, Patriotic dance £2G; W. R. Wright, £2; Mr T. Fleming, £1; Mrs Movrali, senr ~J. Hopping, 10s each.
