Thursday evening should be set aside by those who enjoy a musical treat, for they will then have an opportunity of Attending the concert organised by Mrs. C. M'Laren in aid of the Copper Trail competition, on behalf of the Red Cross Society. Orchestral selections will foe played by .Mr. Fox's orchestra, whilst vocal items will be contributed by Mesdumes MLareu and Hollands and Messrs X. Day, Morris, Walters, and Tom Banford- Mr. CSonnley (Hawera) will supply the comic clement, and a Hawera young lady (Miss Edwards) will contribute a step dance- Further variety will be added by a, cornet solo by Mr. M'Lo.od, of New 'Plymouth, and a pianoforte solo by Mr. A. O. iSturrock. From the above list of performers, it can be safety anticipated that patrons may rely on spendinjr a very pleasant evening. The following Thursday the grand masquerade ball will be held in the Town Hall, ilte funds being identical —Red Cross Society. This should prove a novelty, and already the ladies are scanning the books of latest songs and comie papers for illustrations that will permit' the competitors an opportunity of landing the prizes.
