General Linsingen has issued a proclamation warning the Berliners that if they spread unfounded rumors, or doubt the truth of Linsingen, thereby meaning the German official communiques, they will render themselves liable to a year's imprisonment. There is too much silly, treacherous prattle as to the extent of the enemy's successes, and doubt is being cast on the resisting power of the German army. Similar proclamations were made a: Breslau, Halle, and Weimer—Renter.
