By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Sept. 3. . Speaking at the conference of directors of technical schools, Dr. Anderson, Director of. Education, said that the Department was anxious to work in happy co-ordination with directors, as it regarded technical education as the question of the day. The present system of payment, based on the English system, involved an enormous amount of clerical Work and trouble, The time had come for it to be revised. The Department had come in for a considerable share of adverse crtiicism, but he gave an assurance that it was anxious to carry out all improvements shown to be needed.
