A meeting of the committee appointed to arrange details of the ball to be held on tile IJHii inst met last evening, Mr. J. >]. Thuiiipson presiding; and others present were; 'Messrs J. &. Rowe, 11 M. Clarke, !■;. il. Cooper, A. Davey, J. Lister, ■!. .lilies, and J Pierce. Prizes (two) will be offered for the best dresses worn by iadies, and another two for gentlemen, whilst a fifth will bo given for liie most original dress. The Cirand March will take place at 10 p.7n. A banner made by the High School girls in honor of .Stratford Club winning the championship will be auctioned, and later on in the evening presented to the Stratford fifteen by the Mayor. Arrangements promise to be very complete, and a Stratford orchestra of seven (J. McAllister bass) J. M'AUister, jun., violin, A. O'Lesry 'lute, C .11. Fox pianist, H. Burmeister comet, C. H. Penn violin, and J. S. Rowc drums) will provido the music. The two rooms in front of the hall will be reserved for the ladies, and t'na rooms under !;ie Make will be for men and cards. The GTand March will bo at 10 pin., when tbe voting on the costumes will be taken. LADIES' PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE. Mrs J. W. Boon, president of the Ladies' Patriotic Committee, presided at a. good attendance of niombcii av the meeting held this afternoon, Mrs. Ii S Crawford (Lady Liverpool Fund), Wellington, stated that, although shipping was uncertain, they should continue packing parcels and goods. All Christmas parcels in one store had been forwarded.—Received.

Regarding the Copper Trail, Mrs. Boon stated that the town committee desired to have the rooms for three Saturdays and the country one Saturday, whilst they (the Ladies' Committee) also desired to have one of the Saturdays. Both town and eountry were working for the Red Cross funds, and they should aire all possible assistance.
