IRISH DAY IN NEW PLYMOUTH.
The committee entrusted with, the carrying out of "Irish Day" at the Red Cft>ss -\V-rt on September *2l have matters well forward, and a good day is in store for patrons. There will be attractions at"tiie Mart stalls, and a platform will be erected on which several gentlemen have promised to dance Irish jigs to the music of Irish 'bagpipes. The mart and dancing will be made a typical brislit Irish day, with colleens attending to patrons. In addition, there will be two concerts —one by the Emerald Lights Concert Company in the Good Templars' Hall on Monday night, September MJ, and the other>v pupils of the Sisters of the Convent in the Holland Hall on the afternoon of Thursday, September 13' There ia also a raffle for a section of land, presented by Mr. James Hiwkins, situated at Tukapa. This will be drawn for at the Soldiers' Club Rooms on Monday night, September 23, at 8 o'clock. Authorised collectors are appointed to secure goods, animals, etc, for the affair, and the- whole net prSfigsda go to the Red Cross War Funds.
