CAPE EOMONT. The annual report of the Cape Egmont Company presented to yesterday's meeting, states:— Considering the difficulties experienced, owing to the war, in the increased price of all requisites for manufactuirng purposes, the results of the y«ar's working must be looked on as very satisfactory. There were 5591 lbs of home separated cream received having an average test of 37 per cent. Whey butter to the value of £1029 Os 7d was manufactured during *'ip year '(including the home separated cream)." Payment was made at lad for butterfat from June 1917, to 31st March, 1918, and Is for April and May 1918, and there remains a surplus of £10,060 12s 2d. A further payment of 3d per lb for April and May ( £377 15s 9d) is now to bo made, together with a bonus of 4d per lb over the whole year ( £5,002 17s lid) and interest on shares at 5 per cent ( £212 2s Od). Your uuectors have set aside £2OO to be written off 'Egmonfc Box Co., Ltd., shares; £4BO in part payment of Taranaki Producers' Freezing Works Co., Ltd, new issue of shares; and £3BO as a contingent fund to cover storage and other charges on cheese not shipped. After providing these amounts there will be another 2d per lb payable as soon as the cheese in store is shipped and settlement received for same, bringing the payment for the year up to Is 9d per lb.
