Mr. Dosch-earet, the New York World'* Petrograd correspondent, says that within two days two thousand Russian officers, from subalterns to generals, hare been arrested. It is reported here that a liaison between the Allies from Archangel and the Czecho-sloraks waa made at Viatka, and that the Allies are advancing on the line of the Vologda river and setting up a Government at Novgorod. General Semenoff s troops, after a setback; resumed operations against seven thousand Bolsheviks around KaiJer, where Japanese reinforcements are arriving. Twelve thousand Bolsheviks on the UiMJri, front were completely repulsed on Sunday night. AJOQETY OVER COMMUNICATIONS. Received Aug. 29, 1.35 a.m. Vudivostock, Aug. 27. General Plethkoff, on behalf of General Horvath, carried out a coup d'etat. He issued a proclamation declaring that the Russian military forces in the Far East were under his command, whereupon the Russian volunteers, organised locally on behalf of the Siberian Government, went over to General Horvath en masse. The suddenness of the affair nonplussed the Siberian Government, which was until* to organise opposition. No bloodshed occurred. The Allied representatives are consideriag the situation. The Timer* Hariris correspondent states that Japanese and Russian cavalry have been sent to protect the Vladivos-tack-Harbin railway. The maintenance of communications is causing anxiety. Xaemy agitator* are eonttonUy stirring up the Bolshevik element amongst the population. The ASiea are considering the taking" over of the control of the Chinese esat«ta railway for the better transport of troops and euppliea—Beuter.
