Mr Pearee lias announced that the Government 'has decided to use all discharged returned soldiers who .re-enlist and any enlistments in excess of the month]/ quota of 6400, for the relief of •the original Anzacs, who will he allowed furlough to Australia.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assoc. RESULTS OF STATK ENTERPRISES. Sydney, August 28. The Premier states that last year all the State enterprises showed a good margin of profit, excepting the trawlers, which had a loss of £9498, principally owing to the Commonwealth Government commandeering the vessels for a period.—Aus.-N.Z. Melbourne, August 28. There are indications of a large development of Australian industries afterv ■the war. Amongst many proposals sub-1 mitted for the approval of the Commonwealth Government are schemes for the manufacture of steel, paint, yarn, zinc, whitelead and woolscouring, involving a capital of over 3J millions.
