COAL MINERS' DISPUTE.

The Minister for Mines stated to-day that ilie proposals for a Royal Commissi-;.'! had.been submitted to representatives of the Coal Mine Owners' Association and the Miners' Federation. The Hon. W. D S., Mao Donald said, in the cireiiauistiices, 1m could nor disclose the .details ot the proposals till both parties to the dispute hud bad an opportunity to express an opinion. Already the (ioveriinteut has committed itself to a comprehensive investigation through the Board of Trade, au inquiry which ratines from the yam to the consumer. The idea with the Royal Commission is to have, a general stock-taking on a field much wider than ihe ground of the dispute between the employers and tle miners.
