Scully explained his references to-M'AJ-' lister's mysterious death. He said:-that; in his opinion, M'AUister did not die>ia natural death; one side or the other gpt him. ,;
Scully saw M'AUister perfectly well a day before he died. He had an appointment with him at his ('Seully'fl) solicitors next day, Which M'AUister did not keeu. Instead, Scully heard that M'Allister had been found unconsaiotis in a hack yard, and next day learned thl&t, M'Allister had died of pneumonia. Goldstein, examined, admittted making an untrue statement impugning the police, in order to irajx-ril 'Jhe Government and get even witfc the police for having ruined him.
