A TRIBUTE TO BELGIUM,

NEW ZEALAND LADY'S GIFT.

Received August 22, 8.10 p.m.

London, August 21. Sir Joseph Ward'lias handed to the Belgian Minister a casket made of New Zealand wood, the gift of a New Zealand lady, for presentation to King Albert. Sir Joseph Ward said that the gift was an indication of New Zealand's warm feelings towards a courageous and heroic nation. Accompanying the gift were two greenstone tikis.

The Minister, replying, said {hilt he. was sure the King would be proud to receive it. New Zealand had shown magnificent generosity towards Belgium during the war—Press Assoc.
