JT 13 now over a year since an appeal was made 011 behalf of the local Patriotic Funds, "which are almost depletecj, and the Pierrots have undertaken to ensure that the good work carried on by these organisations on behalf of the Boys shall not be permitted to languish. The money is used entirely for Comforts for Soldiers at the Front on Transports, and in the Camps, to meet the pressing needs of subsidiary organisations, and for the temporary relief of urgent eases of distress. THE SURPRISE PACKET SCHEME has not been previously worked on a large scale in New Plymouth. It is proposed to issue CO,OOO tickets, every ticket ensuring a prize of some kind. Many very valuable prizes are already promised, and the public is appealed to to donate further articles to be used for prizes. An official house-to-house canvass is about to be made by members of the Pierrots for spare articles of any value, a«d receipts will be given for every donation. NOTHING IS TOO SMALL, NOTHING IS TOO VALUABLE to be turned into money for the SOLDIERS' COMFORT. For the New Plymouth Pierrots— US. McLEOD, Chairman. C. DE C. MORGAN, Secretary. [ 11.
