'C*h«--principal '.feature of the new programme at the Umpire to-night is the Metro Broadway siieceis "iwyorcak,"' slurring Emily Stevens. Far removed from t)ie .stories of unusual adventure that could happeu to few, comes this gripping drama of home life, carrying its message straight to the hearts of the many. Wives everywhere have found themselves in the same predicament as Kdith Frome, the heroine 01 "Daybreak," whose husband, through drink, has become dead to-all thought of honor. The theme found in "Daybreak*' will have its appeal to these, and the story of this great human problem and its solution will interest even those who have never met any such experience in their own lives. It is a great drama of the home, a picture of powerful 'human appeal that will reach everyone. The other two star features are ''Easy Street," the mirth--11l led Mutual comedy starring Charlie | Chaplin, and the third episode of "A Lass of the Lumberlands," with Helen Holmes in the lead,
MATINEE TO-MORROW. CHARLIE CHAPLIN IN "ZA&Y STREET."
A treat is in store for the kiddies at (lie matinee 10-raorrow afternoon. Charlie will do his wonderful stunts in '•Easy Street," Helen Holmes has some startling adventures in the third episode of "A Lass of the Lumberlands," Ford Sliding stars in, a shrieking two-reel comedy. "Crooked to the End," and there is a splendid picture of the Red Cross Cycle Carnival at Christchurch, another comedy. "Klnthoads and Flivvers," and the Topical Weekly.
EVERYBODY'S. MAE MARSH IN "SUNSHINE ALLEY" TO-NIGHT.
Owing to the huge success of the Cappelli concerts many regular picture patrons have missed the delightful (U old - wvu super-feature. ''Sunshine Alley,'' starring Mae Marsh and "Hobby" Harron. In response to numerous rcnuests, the management has decided to screen this splendid picture again at livery body's to-night. Supporting "Sunshine Alley'' will he the fourth episode of "The Mystery of the Double Cross'' and a most entertaining Ooumotit <!rapiiie. To-night is positively the very last occasion on which this programme can be screened.
