THE SURPRISE PACKET SCHEME ha 3 not been previously worked on a large scale in New Plymouth. It is proposed to issue- 00,000 tickets, every ticket ensuring a prize of some kind. Many very valuable prizes are already promised, and the public is appealed to to donate further articles to be used for prizes. An official house-to-house canvass is about to be made by members of the Pierrots for spare articles of any value, and receipts will be given for every donation.
