ELTHAM CO-OP. DAIRY COMPANY.

THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Eltham Co-op. Dairy Company, held 011 Saturday, V;as one of the tamest yet held — that is, from a discussion point of view. The chairman (Mr. H. D. Forsyth) is recognised by those interested in the dairying industry as a man who lias a morough grasp of dairying matters, and after delivering his address at the opening of MlO meeting, the most cantankerous supplier found it impossible to find a. point on which he ceuld ''pull the directors to pieces"

.VOTES FROM CHAIRMAN'S SPEECH. With closer settlement and labor more plentiful, we can increase our production by 50 per cent. Farmers, however, should make up their minds that the present good times are not always going to last. But we must keep up production; in other words, keep 011 moving. We have not yet solved tho problem of tho manufacture of rennet. Still, we are endeavoring to secure the services of experts, and hope that before long competent men will be available to carry out the business to a successful issue. However, it should be remembered that the veils that have tieen • saved meant that a great saving has been effected in the cost of rennet.

, The shipping prospects were dot too good. The stores at Moturoa uim otlier places were full, and a number of tho factories still held big stocks. By the Eltham Company erecting cool stores they had saved £4OOO, i We are asfSing you to increase the I capital of the company to £GO,GQO, by the creation of £20,000 worth of additional shares at £1 each. There were at present only a very small nniAiicr of shares unallotted, and if suppliers increased their 'herds there would not be sufficient shares to allot. The meeting sanctioned the increase in the number of shares as asked by the directors.
