THE MEAT QUESTION. Received 17, 1.40 a.m. Melbourne, August 16. Tim Federal Government 'has appointed a Meat Administration with Mr Owen Cox as controller. In order to relieve the shortage, it has been decided to release a supply of meat awaiting export to Britain, which it is unable to dispatch owing to the dearth of shipping. The ad. mm.s.tration will sel? to retail butchers sufficient to cover the shortage.
