PRODUCERS MEET MINISTERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Representatives of the meat producers of the Dominion met the Minister in Charge of Imperial Supplies and Minis: ter of Agriculture, to discuss the question of the extension of the meat requisition scheme beyond the period for which the present arrangement exists. Under the present contract the requisition ceases three months after the end of the war. The proposal before the conference was that the period should be extended to make the cessation of the contract continuous with the wool contract—twelve months after the June 30 following the termination of hostilitiesThe delegation was unanimous as to the desirability of the extension of the requisition, but some delegates suggested that there should be, some arrangement for the distribution of any profits that might be made out of the sale of meat in England. There is such an arrangement about the profits on the gale of wool, and the suggestion was that a like arrangement should be made in regard to meat.
