i THE ETTEBSBUBGH STRAWBEERY. i Mr. James Hi]], representing the , Sunnyvale Orcliarcl and Xursery Co. of Island Block, Otago, is at present in New Plymouth, bringing under the notice of those interested the merits of the new wonder strawberry, the Ettcrsburgh, tli'e growing reputation of which is already well-known from the excellent results obtained from it, not only elsewhere, but in this Dominion also. When it is said that a, South Island grower reports a, yield last year of £OOO from an. acre of three-year plants, the prolific naturo of the Ettersiburgh can be easily, imagined. A letter in Mr. Hill's possession from a firm of fruit merchants states that.the Ettersburgh excels any other variety by 100 p"cr cent, in 'carrying capacity, uniformity, Mid flavor, and that it sold so readily that the only complaint was the shortage of supply. The Ettersbilrgli succeeds in any climate, and readiiy adapts itself to any soil. It is not. only ft pood marketable fruit but is equally well suited for jam-making and bottling, a jar of bottled Ettersburgh shown us by Mr. Hill showing prime keeping quality and beautiful coloring after eight months in the glass, a noticeable feature, being the', firmness; of the fruit. 'Mr. Hill will no doubt meet with success in pushing the •Etterbm-gn! in-this district. Orders- for' plants should be'f»nt to Mr. James Hill, c/o?. fie <Phm<mXk- ' "V
