ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
OEATH OF MR JAMES WHITE. The many friends of Mr James White, formerly manager of the.„ Wliakamaru cheese factory, will regret to learn that he succeumbed to his injuries at the Hawera Hospital early on Friday morning. It will be remembered that on Wednesday »last deceased was engaged removing his furniture in motor lorry to Kaupokonui, where he was about to take up the position of llrst assistant at the Kaiipokomii cheese factory. When gong down a hill the brakes refused to act, and deceased jumped out intending to "spike" the wlueels. In doing so he fell and one wheel passed over hipi, crushing his leg badly. Deceased, who I was 33 years of ago, leaves a widow and I one child. To the bereaved ones the deepest sympathy is expressed An inquest will be opened at the Court-
house, Hawera, on Saturday.
