MSK JLBILEE SINGERS T!ie Jubilee Singers, in their final confer!: of the New Plymouth season, which wa s given at the Empire Theatre last night, were given a inest flattering aud enthusiastic reception. The audience packed the building in every part, and they threw all consideration for the sbigers to the wind's and demanded recall after re-call, and the applause at times ran into a riot of uproar. The printed programme had to tie amended in many places owing to the large number of requests received for particular items. Boweyor, the number of eneores demanded and generously given by the company resulted in practically ail the printed item 3 being submitted. The company was again very successful in its presentation of the jubilee melodies, the subtle, harmonies of which were made, even moijs bewitching than on the first night. Amongst the songs oiven were the well-known "My Lord, What a Morning," "Great Camp Meeting," "Who Built the Ark?" "The Gospel Train" and "Roll, Jordan Roll." The I 'Medley of Popular Airs" was again entluisiastlaally received' and the glee Mingle Bells" proved an enjoyable item. A clever song scena was included in last night's programme. The principal parts were taken toy Miss AVybnrd, who san.e; "Sing Me the. Rosary," and Mr. Sy;h Waynes, who responded with the well'toiown "Jtfy Rosary." Tho lighting effects were well, controlled and the "subdued chorus by the remainder of the party was very effective. One of the features of the programmes of the company is the clever presentation of harmonised ehorusiis to many of the solo numbers. All the soloists achieved great success, and were recalled several times in ninny eases. The male quartette were highly delightful in "The Teacher find the Tack" and responded with "The bulldog and the Bank." The climax of Hie evening was produced by .Miss 'Bertha Millar in her ragtime ballad, and again m the duet with Mr Jlaynes. when they had to repent twice over the *Buzzin'<» Pee" turn. '" a Tim Jubilee Singers Will appear at Waitara to-night and deserve a packed house again.
