PATRIOTIC WORK.

A very successful meeting was held on Monday evening at. the Red Crass rooms in connection with the Spinsters' Day at the mart, arranged for next Saturday. Very long lists of promises of assistance were read out, and it is to be hoped the spinsters will make quite a nice sum to help our poor, wounded soldiers. The young spinsters have been put in. charge of the fancy, flower and jumble stall, where anything will be acceptable from a nosegay to a bullock. It is to be hoped that those who nave been asked to contribute will kindly uo so without having to lie reminded again, and send contributions to the mart on Friday afternoon or evening. A second-hand book: stall is to oe a great feature at the Spinsters' Day at tiie mart next Saturday, when all those who have pooks that They have read are a.-ked to kindly send them along to the Keil Cross on Friday or Saturday, to be sold for the good of out suffering and wounded soldiers.
