DISTRICT NEWS.

CARDIFF. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A very popular wedding took place at the Holy Trinity Church, Stratford, on July 17„ the contracting parties being Miss Meta Belcher, daughter of Mr. and Sirs. J. T. Belcher, of Cardiff, and Mr. Harold Croasdale, of the same place. The bride, who was given away by Mr. William Rogers, of Stratford, wore a very pretty dress of ivory crepe de chine, together with the customary veil and orange blossoms. Miss £■ 3elcher. attired in a lovely dress of shell-pink ninon, was chief bridesmaid, and Miss P. Belcher, another sister of tie bride, who wore a pretty pale blue silk dress, also attended the bridge. Mr. Ij. Rogers, of Stratford, was best-man. After the ceremony, the bridal party, in company with their numerous relatives and friends, partook of a sumptuous wedding breakfast at the Foresters' Hall, amid the hearty congratulations of the company. The happy couple left by the 3 o'clock train for Wanganui, and thence to their future home in the ■ Waikato district. ' As the two Cardiff boys to whom a "send-off" was arranged for last week had their leave cancelled owing to epidemics in camp, it is to be hoped that another opportunity will arise to iarewell them. The work of building the new factory is proceeding at a rapid rate, and as the roof is now up, greater progress should be made in the future. The dairy herds seem to have weathered the exceptionally rough winter very well, and, given a mild spring, they should rapidly recover.
