THE THRASER. Tlie barquentine Thrasher, a throe-masted vessel of alii tons gross, arrived otf New Plymouth on Sunday afternoon, and was berthed shortly after noon yesterday. After the medical examination had been carried out by Dr. McCleland, the Collector of Customs (Mr. R. Eyre) proceeded with his examinaton. The carrying-out of the regulations regarding overseas vessels was superc'sod by Plain-clothes Constable Fitzgibbon. The Thrasher arrived in good order after a voyage of 00 days from San Franet3co, which port was left on June 5. For the first part of the voyage very good weather was experienced and good progress was made but for about the Inst six weeks of Che voyage the vessel encountered the southerly winds which have been prevalent. After losing sight of the United Slates co?.st no land w.is seen until early on Sunday morning, when Cape Egniont light came into view and with the daylight the land itself. The cargo which consists of benzine and motor-ears, with lumber on deck, is consigned to Messrs Spcdding and Stainton. Captain H. V. Townsend is in command and under him are Mr. A. Townsend (first mate), Mr. A. Lane (second mate) and a crew of ten men. This. Is the second call which the Thrasher has made at New Plymouth, she having arrived here on June 20 last year from San Francisco and sailed again on July C to go first to Newcastle (Australia.)
