PEDIGREE JERSEY SALE.

On Monday, August IS, Mr. Newton King will sell on account of Mr. J. 0. Davidson, Mo-tunui, a wry jjne line of pedigree and grade Jersey cattle, 100 head all told. Mr. J. C. Davidson has been breeding Jerseys on his farm near Waitara for quite a number of yeans. Being a dairy farmer, 'his great object has been to develop a family of Jereeys whose chief feature would be the large production of butter-fat. His herd had largely bean built froan the foundation oows, Flower Girl and Mahoe. Both of these animal's were not only large-framed, strongconstitutioned cow, but tihey came from heavy producing families. A later purchase was the iribred K.C.B. cow Bilberry's Maid, who, together With her progeny, has been quite a valuaible addition to the herd. IBs principal sire has boon Peggy's Campanile, the very handsome soir of t!hc inbred Magne-t's Boy cow, Magnet's Peggy, who is also the dam of lady Peggy, a heifer which has a semi-official record of floOlb of fat on her second calf. The large majority of the herd, particularly the descendants of Peggy's Campanile, are unusually liigfli testing animals. The sire Abundance, mentioned in so many of the pedigrees, was the well-known bull imported from Australia by the late Mrs- Jonuins, Mr. Davidson has been reluctantly compelled to have a complete clearing sale owing to labor difficulties. I At the time of compiling this catalogue Mr. Davidson was unfortunately an inmate of a private hospital in New Plymouth, and was, therefore, unable to describe as fully each individual cow as he could wish, but hopes to be able to supply more detail on the day of sale. The owner will truck all cattle free of charge at the Waitara railway station. All care taken, but no responsibility.

Motor cars will run from my Stratiord, Kaponga and Manaia offices on the morning of sale. As previously mentioned, the whole of the catalogue will be sold to the highest bidder without reserve.
