N.S.W. RAILWAYS AND TRAMWAYS Received August 4, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, August 3. The annual report of the railways and tramways shows that the railways' deficit was £*28,916, though the earnings increased by £574,705. The tramways showed a surplus of £40,835, and the working expenses disclosed a reduction of £88,107. It is estimated the railways lost £425,000 and the tramways £150,000 as a result of the big strike* —Press Assoc. •
