AMERICAN WHEAT SUPPLIES. Washington, August 2. Chicago visible wheat supply is 9,908,000 bushels. TARANAKI HIDES, CALFSKINS AND TALLOW SALES. MR. NEWTON KING'S REPORT. At my four-weebly sale of the above, held on July 23, I catalogued 480 hides, 124 calfskins, 32 tins tallow. Prices for hides were easier, declining Jd per lb, heavies being most affected. Calfskins again advanced, reaching the record price of 15 5-Bd. Tallow was firm at late rates. I quote: Ox, heavy 14 jd to 145-Bd, medium 103 d to 11 5-Sd, light 9 7-8 d to lOfd, cut lid.

At Albert yards, horses came forward in average numbers, the demand being mutiii the same as at recent sales.
