EFFICIENCY TRUSTEES.

WEEKLY MEETING. The weekly meeting of the New Plymouth trustees of the Efficiency Board was held yesterday, there being present: Messrs T. Furlong (chairman), E. Whittle, and F. J. Hill (secretary). Several letters were received, and dealt with from thi 1 National Efficiency Board and the Pensions Board, Wellington. A Taranaki soldier in Fe&therston Camp wrote asking the board to secure for him several days' leave, in order to arrango matters in connection wit.h a ■ farm in which lie was interested.--In the absence of any specific data, it was resolved to recommend the soldier to confer with the Camp Commandant A local tradesman wrote in respect to one. of his employees, called up for service, whose place lie had been unable to (ill, and asked if the board could secure an extension of leave for the reservist, in order to carry the tradesman over the busy season.—Tt was decided to take expert advice on the matter. Representations were made on behalf of a Mew Plymouth firm affected by the recent ballot, and it was decided to secure expert opinion with a view to enabling the business to be carried on. A North Taranaki farmer waited on the board oii ; behalf of, two soldiers in. France, stating "lie wished to place at the disposal of the.Government a farm ' of 1390 acres, Wlncfli wSs'thought suit* able for returned soldiers.
