WAR ANNIVERSARY.

MONDAY'S ARRANGEMENTS. In connection with the meeting to be held in Jivcrybody's Theatre on Monday afternoon in commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the declaration of war, the speakers will be his Worship the Mayor of New Plymouth (Mr. C. H. Burgess), Messrs 11. J. Olcey, M.P., and W. T. Jennings, M.P. The High School Cadets have been requested to march to the tbwtre, and the Citizens' Band is also to be in attendance. Seats will bo reserved for veterans and returned soldiers. Territorials and senior aidets have not been asked to parade owing to the limited accommodation, and also to the fact that if they did c.o a large number of men would be required to lose practically a whole afternoon's work for a meeting lasting perhaps half an hour. In view of the fact that the meeting this year is to be held indoors, and that accommodation will be limited, the Mayor lias issued a circular to the local schools embodying a suggestion that it would be much more instructive and interesting' to the scholars if each school were to have its own function at the same hour as the public meeting. The ••cholars could bo assembled, and the resolution and the object for which the Allies arc fighting be fully explained to them by the headmaster, after which cheers could be given for the Allies and the National Anthem sung-
