Mr. Jeffries writes from Albania ,#iat the defeat and fall of Berat have thoroughly alarmed the Austrians, whose dreams of domination of the Balkans ifl threatened and is now reacting strongly along the Senieni. The Austrians have been heavily reinforced, especially with machine-guns. An army corps has been placed in position between Slcumbt and Semeni, headed by .'PeranzerbaKin, one of the most trusted generals in the army, who replaced von Hohenkampff, who was cashiered. The Italians are unceasingly counterattacking, and holding up tie enemy.— United Service.
