RED CROSS MART.

Ths committee of the local 'branch of the British Red Cross earnestly invites the co-operation of the public in the matter of stocking" the Red Cross Mart every week. There are * few kind friends outside the oonunrttoe who rarely fail each week to supply one or more articles for sale, and "the committee, while expressing deep gratitude to tihese loyal helpers, would like to point out that the demand for hpme-cooked foods, cakes, flowers,' vegetables, and other produce is far in excess of the ordinary supply. The members of the committee, who are also responsible for the daily work of the sewing rooms, find "that without help from the outside public they cannot adequately stock the mart each week. Canvassing the tradespeople is prohibited by the rules of the mart, because it was realised how many calls come upon their generosity. But voluntary gifts from one and all will be most "Tatefully received, and as we are all reaping the benefit of the service and devotion of our soldiers, surely it should be our pleasure, not less than our duty, to secure the means ea«h week by which they can receive comfort and care when Bick or wounded. If each household gave one gift per week, the burden would not fall heavily on any one, and the committee appeal with to the well-known generosity of the >*ew Plymouth public to help in this matter.
