Captain Orr Walker, military representative with tha No. 1 Wellington Military Service Board, is again indisposed, and his place yesterday was taken by Major Cox, of the Hawera Group office.

Heighwav, for 21 years pastor of the King Street Congregational Cburali, Punedin, terminated his ministry there the other day, having accepted a call to the Palmerston North Congregatiohal Ohureli. During Mr. Heighway's long residence in this city (says the Otasro Daily Times), ho lias proved himself a zealous and faithful pastor, and has gained the affection and goodwill of his whole congregation, while by his indefatigable public labors for the moral and spiritual welfare of his fellows he fiis won tKe, esteem and admiration of the whole community.

The marriage was celebrated yesterday morning of Miss Vera Howson, (laughter of Mr. and -Mrs. W. Ilowson. of New Plymouth, with Sergeant-Major H. Collier, who has been resident m this district since his return from the front. The ceremony took place at St. Mary's Church, and took the form of a military wedding, Lieut.-Colonel Chaplain Evans officiating. The bride, who was attired in a smart costume, was given away by her father, arid was attended by Miss E.' Drayder as bridesmaid, whilst S?r«t. W. P. Okoy acted as best man. At the conclusion'of the service the wedding breakfast was served at Messrs May and Arrowsmitli'?; and Mr. and Mrs. Collier left b> the mid day train for south.
