' OFFICER CHARGED WITH .THEFT. By Telegraph.—Presa Association, Dunedin, Cast NightAt the Milton Oonru to-day, Captain Arthur C C. Steven, group commander *i Hilton, and adjutant of the South Gtago Regiment, appeared to answer charges by tlie Audit Department. There were' seven informations, three charging accused with thefts of cheques aggregating £45 and four charges of theft of money* totalling £32 7s lOd, representing moneys received, but not awoumted for. He pleaded not guilty. Counsel for the prosecution said defendant repaid the, moneys on May 17 last year, but wfoea aaked by the auditor alutmt the money he made two untrue statements. Accused was oommStted; for trial, bail being allowed. - : -
