HUNTING.
.WRTH TAKASTAJyI HOUNDS. The North Tarajiaki hounds met at Messrs Skelton and JSdwin's. properties, Waihi, on Thursday afternoon. The weather was all that, could be desired, and there was a large attendance of both followers and spectators. Hares were numerous, and there were some exciting runs. The fences had been well sparred, and there was some excellent jumping. Hounds worked well together, and the afternoon from .every.point of view was a particularly enjoyable one. A few jumps had been erected in one of tihe home paddocks, and at the conclusion of the hunt the followers entertained the spectators to exhibitions of jumping. Subsequently Mr. B. 11. Chaney, de-puty-master, extended the thanks of the hunt and friends to Messrs Skelton and Kdwin and adjoining property owners for having granted permission to hunt over their properties. He also thanked the ladies for their kind hospitality. ~ The next meet will'take place at Mr. Tawhanga's property at Waihi, where there is some excellent country both from the followers' point of view ad also that of spectators.
