UTESTMRDAYIS SITTING?, ;<(Baforo Mr. A. Cnookc, S-M.) 1 The following cases were deal with ht' tlie Magistrate's Court, New Plymouth yesterday, Ibefore (Mr. A. Crooke, BOROUGH BY-LAWS, On the information of tlie assistantinspector (Mr. E. C. King), Keith Allan and Harold Trim were convicted of riding motor-cfcles at night without lights, and each was ordered to pay costs amounting to 7s. Oil the information of the police, for whom Sergeant TreJiej appeared Rowan Umgley (Westown) was charged under the borough by-laws with riding a motorcycle and side-car between the hours of sunset and sunrise without having proper lights attached thereto. In view of a previous decision by the Magistrate that the iby-law waa repugnant to the Statute law of the country, and that "leave to appeal against the decision had been granted, the case waa adjourned sine die. COUNTY BY-LAWS, On the information of the inspector for the County of Taranaki (Mr. C. !>• Brant),- for whom Mr. Quilliam appeared, J. Jury was fined 5s (costs £1 8s), for allowing cattle to wander on the roads, and J. <Frazer was fined a Similar amount, with costs £1 Bs, for driving a vehicle after dark without a light. TBUANOY OASES. The Taranaki Education (Board's truant officer proceeded against a nmriber of parents for failing to send their children to school regularly, and convictions wero recorded and the minimum fine (2s) and coats (7bl were imposed in the following cases:—Frank Drnry, Benjamin G-illbanks, Albert Trueman, George V. Martin, Prank Kccnan, and Ernest George (three informations).
