NZ. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., (Bawera branch) report as follows: At Dalziel road, Eltham, on Monday, we held a clearing sale for Mr H. P. Newberry. Good cows made £l9 to £24, others £ls 10s to £lB 10s, backward and old cows £6 to £l4 (the herd averaged £lfi 9s), ewes 235, lambs (small) PCs, horses £lB 30s to £2O, yearling heifers £2 to £3 9s. Opunake, on Mondlay: Pat cows £l2 to £l3 4s, store.cows £7 10s to £3 Bs, empty heifers £5 9s, springing heifers £lO 10s to £ll 10s, late calvers £8 17s 6d and £0 7s Gd, eows £l2 to £l3. Manaia:, on Tuesday 'Small empty oows £2 103 to £5, others £0 15s to £7 Is, fat ewes £1 os, bulls £7, small weaner pigs 5s to 15s, others £1 to £1 10s.

On Thursday, at Mr J. T. Harris' sale, everything sold satisfactorily. "We quote: Fait owes £2, sow £5, store pigs £2 fs, mare £l2, good cows £PG to £lB, others £l2 10s to £lO, late calvers £9 to £ll.

At Te Kiri, on account of Mr John Seanlon, on Thursday, we held a fair sale, the cows being of a poor type and were too beef v. The best made £l2 10s to £l4, others £8 10s to £ll 10s, heifers £9 10s to £ll, yearling heifers £3 2s. At Palmer road, on Friday, we had a good sale, demand was keen for good. cows. We quote: Fat cows £ll 10s to £l3 2s, forward cow 9 £8 ISs to £9 15s, store eows £7 7s 6d to £S 10s, light cows and heifers £5 17s (id to £f> 10s, hoggets 18s lOd to 23s 3d, yearling steers £2 2s fid to £3s, heifers' £2 10 s fid to £4, mixed weanera £1 3s Bd, bulls £8 10s, dairy oows £lO, FARMERS' CO-OP. SOCIETY.

At our Opunake yards on Saturday we held a clearing sale on account of Mr DT. Leahy. There was a good attendance and we report a most successful sale. The dairy cows were a good lot and in fine conditior., although a good number of them were late calvers. The whole herd averaged £l3 3s, July calvers £W 15s to £2l. Aug. and Sept. calvers £l2 to £ls, others more backward £9 10s to £lllos. Also on account of other vendors, cows £l2 to £l4. At Optmalce road, Te Kiri, on Tuesday, *e held a clearing 'ale on account of Mr R. Morris. There was a large attendance of buyers from the surrounding district, and a very successful sale was held. Prices were good throughout. We quote: Be<st diry cows £l7 to £2O 10s, others £l2 to £l'6 10s. The herd of 80 cows averaged £l4 10s (id. Empty cows £5 to £9 10s, horses £lO to £2JS 10s, store pigs .£2 Is, breeding sows £0 ]f»p to £l3 15s. The sundries also sold well. At Eltham, on Tuesday, we held a clearing sale of Mrs C. W. Carlson's dairy cows and sundries. The attendance was good and we report n successful sale. The dairy cows sold at from £ll to £2B, heifers to £l3, bull 55gns.

At Eltham on Wednesday there was an averge yarding of stock, and prices were the same as late sales. In-lamh ewes 31s, lamhs 15s to 18s Od, cull ewes 18s 7d, forward and store cows £6 5s to £8 10s, boners £3 10 s to £5 10s. good weaner steers £4 0s 6d to £4 17s fid, weaner heifers £2 14s 6d to £4 14s Od, in-calf heifers £9 as. At Awatuna on Friday we held a clearing sale on account of Messrs Smith Bros P.uyers were in attendance, and everything sold well. We quote: Best dairy oows £l7 to £2O 10s, others £lO to '£l6 10s; 78 cows averaged £l4 10s o*. Tn-ctvlf heifers £7 15 to £l2 15s, weaner heifers £3, horWs £5 to £2(l. Wous*hold furniture and sundries also sold well.
