The position .is that the transport carrying the 39fchB touched aground on entering a port of call, but was refloated. There were no rasualties. THE OTIM TUNNEL Wellington, Last Night. A' function to celebrate tie piercing of ■••Hie Otira tunnel will be held on August 21, -when a Ministerial party will visit the scene and the flock dividing the headings will be' broken away. WHEAT STATISTICS. Christchurch', Last Night. The wheat controller advises that up to July 23 5,807,367 bushels of wheat ■were threshed. Purchases of good milling total 4,536,553 bushels, and seconds 604,127. The amount paid to brokers is £1,304,848 12s 7d. ARTIFICIAL LIMB FACTORY. Wellington, Last Night. To-day Cabinet approved of the proposal for the expenditure of '£2762 on the building and equipment of an artificial limb factory near the -Old Te Aro •railway Station,
