AMERICAN-JAPANESE TREATY.; ,-. TO HOLD VLADIVOSTOCK. - Beceived July 23, 7.30 p.m. Ottawa, July 22. The New York Times' Washington correspondent states that President Wilson will announce an American-Japanese military expedition to Russia to aid the Czecho-Slovaks. He also states that the United States and Japan will send a joint military expedition to Vladivostock to hold the city as a base for the operations of the Czecho-Slovaks against former Austro-German prisoners of war. It is understood that no other Allies will participate.—United 'Press. IN THE AIR; RAIDS ON GERMAN TOWNS. POWDER FACTORY BLOWN UP. Received July 23, 11.35 p.m. London, July 23. The Air Ministry reports: We dropped a ton of bombs on railway sidings at Lunes, and we attacked the Badische Aniline factory. Many good bursts were observed, and a large explosion was caused in the factory. South-east of Zwiebrucke we bombed three aerodromes. Our low fliers hit five trains, bombed and machine-gunned searchlights and anti-aircraft guns. All We attacked on Monday an important powder factory at Rottwell, hitting a big shed, with the result that several others blew up. The fire was seen for sixty miles. All machines returned.— •Am.
