SCENIC RESERVES BOARD.
QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the New Plymouth Scenic Reserves Board was heJd at the District Lands and Surrey Office, New Plymouth, on Tuesday. Present: Mr. ~G. H. Bulkrd (Commissioner of Crown Lands, in the chair), Messrs S. Percy Smith, R. W. J. Davies, and W. A. Col]is. The Under-Secretary for Lands wrote advising of authority for£2o to meet current expenditure in connection with the various reserves under th« board's control.—Received. Mr. Henry King, hon. caretaker of "Meeting of the Waiters" Reserve, reported that poles had heen cut in the reserve by someone unknown, and suggested that the police he instructed to act in the matter.—The chairman was empowered to see the sub-inspector of police, with a view to action against the offenders, under the Scenery Preservation Act Puketipa.—Arrangements to fence and plant a small area were loft, in the hands of the chairman and Mr- Smith, for action next month Puketi Pa.—Arrangements to fence and fence off and plant aibout four chains for a picnic ground, the chairman and Messrs Smith and Davies being appointed to see that the work was carried out
