Subject to necessary alterations, mails will close at the chief post office, New Plymouth, as under: For Auckland and North, daily per train at 6.13 a.m. For Auckland and North, per steamer, Tuesday and Friday, at 7 p.m. For Napier and Glsborne, dally at 0.15 a.m. For Wellington and South, daily at 6.15 a.m. For Wanganui and intermediate offices, daUy at 6.15 am., 10.45 am. and 2.45 p.m. For Opunake and intermediate offices, per motor bus, dally at 8.15 a.m. WEDNESDAY, JULY 24. For Australian States, South Africa, India, China, Japan, Straits Settlements, Egypt and Expeditionary Forces in Egypt (per s.s. Manuka, from Wellington), at 6.15 a.m. SATURDAY, AUGUST 10. For Expeditionary Forces, at 6.15, a,m. MONDAY, AUGUST 12, For United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, United States of America, Central and South America, via Vancouver; also, Honolulu, Japan and Fiji (per s.s. Xlakura, from Auckland), at 6.15 a.m. (Money Orders close Friday, August 9, 3 p.m.) Money orders, registered letters and parcels close one hour before tho ordinary mail. The public are earnestly requested to register ail letters containing money or valuables. Intended to be sent by post.
