LENIENCY TO NEW ZEALANDEfi. London, July 18. Yeates, a New Zealan ddoctor who had a dispute with the defence authorities and was arrested for wearing uniform without authority, had hfs appeal dismissed with costs, but on Yeates undertaking not to wear a uniform the penalty was reduced to one shilling. Ohiozza Money has announced that 037,020 Americans were transported to Europe In April, May, and June, of whom 330,95(1 were carried in British ships. Arrangements have been made to carry more. An English-speaking union has recently been formed to promote comradeship between Ihe people of the British Empire and the United States, in the belief that peace and progress will be advanced by Hie union of English-peaking democracies.
