EVERYBODY'S. LAST NIGHT OF IRENE CASTLE IN i "CONVICT 993." | Everybody's has a good thing at the top of its new picture list. This is the drama called "Convict 993," which comes from the Pathe studios, and is a thrilling mystery play, with beautiful Irene Castle as the star. The story on which the film is based seems to be thrilling • enough, as -it is built about a eonvictress who escapes from prison and falls in love; then yields to some more temptation and lives in wealth until the climax comes. The programme also includes one of the greatest eomedv screams ever produced by Keystone, entitled ''The Dog Catcher's Love.".. Tonight will be the final screening. AT THE MATINEE TO-MORROW. MADGE EVANS IN "THE VOLUNTEER." At the matiueo to-morrow and again to-morrow night sweet little Madge Evans will be starred in a heart-stirring World feature, "The Volunteer." "THE SCARLET TROUBADOURS." "The Scarlet Troubadours," who appear at the Empire Theatre next. .Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, have earned the reputation of being able to present a smart and clever entertainment, devoid of any dull moments. In othqr words, their programmes are said to lie so admirably varied and music and comedy so judiciously blended tha-t there is no time for any dull moments. Miss Lalla Ward and Miss Madolin'e Knight, the soprano and contralto respectively, aided by Mr. Renn Milky, the company's excellent baritone, arje the leaders of the vocal section, which is quit!' a strong feature with the "Troubadours." On the lighter or comedy side, Miss Ivy Davis and Miss Hilda E MeMurtrv, in association with Mr. Andrew Pace, Reg Hawthorne, George Livingstone and Courtney Ford make a combination which is difficult to equal. During their recent Australian season "The Scarlet Troubadours" had the satisfaction of establishing a fine reputafion, and it is expected that they will be as equally successful on their present Dominion tour. The box plan opens this morning at Collier.'s.
