THE PRICE OF WOOL.
VIEWS OF AGRICULTURAL | COUNCIL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, July 18. Addressing the Council of Agriculture, the Hon. W, D. S. Mac Donald, Minister of Agriculture, condemned the agitation by a .section of tlie wool growers concerning the terms of the purchase of wool by the Imperial Government. Mr. Mac Donald said that farmers must remember the whole question of the disposal of wool had not yet been settled. The Paris Convention imposed certain obligations and these could not be altered till the war ended. On the motion of Mr. G. Hunter, M.P-, the meeting expressed the hope that the negotiations between New Zealand and the Imperial Government in regard to the wool purchase would be on lines in the best interests of the Empire. Mr Hunter, replying to the suggestion to include a statement that the meeting had no sympathy with the complaints of Ea-st Coast farmers, said it was more dignified to ignore the agitation.
