DISTRICT NEWS.
PUXGAREHU. (From Our Own Correspondent). The Pimgalelm Indies are again turning their thoughts towards providing Christmas cheer for the hoys in the trenches. In view of the good response of the public last year, and the many gratc-ful and appreciative letters received from the front, the ladies are all the more eager to acuiin provide our gallant representatives at the front with some substantial and useful token of remembrance from their Pungarehti friends. It is therefore proposed to hold a social, and a largo fancy fair later to raise funds. Mrs Guild, last year's secretary, has letters acknowledging receipt of parcol?, cakes, Y.M.C.A, coupons and postal notes from the following soldiers:—Private \\\ W. R. Harvey, Tpr. G. D. Dawson. Tpr. S. L. Goodwin, r.1.M., Pte. Ernest Symons, Pte. G'. A. Nash, Pte. C. Plim, I'flmn. J. Baxter, Pte. A. 'Hansen, Pte. A- IJilpatricl;. Pte. S. J. Armstrong, 'Pte. H. Campbell. Pte. Chag. Forrester, Pte. Pani Puo, Pte. Georcre Noble.
