WEDDINGS.
READ—-A'SIIER. At tie Methodist Church, Tariki, onJuly 15, ISIS, from the bride's sister's residence (Mrs. W. ll Rudldn), I/rede- 1 rick Walter llcad, second son of Mr. W. ! P. Bead, WaiUato, wag married to Arniie ; Hilton Asher, second daughter of Mr. J. ; Asher, New Plyiuoutli. The Rev. I'\ Booster, of Otaiiuhu, uliieiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, ' was daintily attired in a dress of silkstriped voile, with the usual veil and orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of roses, jonquils, and maiden-hair fern. The bridesmaids —Miss Eris Rudkin, niece of the bride, and Miss Ivy Bead, sister of the bridegroom—wore cream silk voile dresses and tnnies, and dainty black tulle hats trimmed with pink, and carried pretty bouquets of pink camel las, rose leaves, and jasmine; Miss Esperance Gilbert, as flower girl, wore a dainty white voile dre3s, and carried a basket of daphne and jasmine. Mr. Albert Head, brother of the bridegroom acted as gest-man, and Mr. Albert Langman as groomsman. The church iva3 tastefully decorated by the Misses Coutta, and the Wedding March was played by Miss. Olive Coutts. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a beautiful silver shaving-mug, and the bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsome travelling coat, and to tho bridesmaids a gold cable bangle and cameo ring; to tho flower girl, a, dainty silver bangle. Corporal L. I. Asher, brother of the bride, was present at the ceremony, having obtained special leave from camp. The reception was held in the Tariki Hall, and about 70 guests were entertained, including friends from Alton, Kakaramea, Auroa, New Plymouth, and the ' Waikato. The usual toasts were proposed and duly honored. Many beautiful and useful presents were received, including several cheques. The happy couple left by motor en route to Auckland and Rotorua, where their honeymoon is to be spent, thence to their future home in Mata-Mata. The bride's travelling dress was of f blue taffeta silk, with white velvet hat t lined with blue silk to match. The bride and bridesmaids carried very pretty w bouquets. Mr. Thompson acted as foestman.
