THE PRICE OF WHEAT. KEPT DOWN BY PRESIDENT. Received July 16, 5.5 p.m. Washington, July 15. President. Wilson vetoed tlie Bill fixing the price of wheat at 2 dollars 40 cents per bushel, because it would increase tlie cost of living, and the Allied Governments would be obliged to buy at tlie increased figure. The whole scale of their financial operations in America, which tlie United Slates Government was directly assisting, would thereby be enlarged.—Press Assoc. CUBAN FORCES FOR THE FRONT. Received July 16, 5.5 pjn. New York, July 15. The Herald's Havana correspondent reports thai Cuban troops will be fighting on the West front before the end of the year.—Press Assoc.
